You have probably heard of Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, the alleged inspiration behind The Devil Wears Prada, and/or ‘the lady who’s always wearing sunglasses’. And as you may or may not know, this living icon has a reputation for not mincing her words, especially when it comes to giving opinions on certain celebrities. So whenever she gets asked pointblank about a celebrity she doesn’t particularly like, her responses are always hilarious.

Case in point:

1. The time she suggested Melania Trump doesn’t exist

During an interview with Anne McElvoy on The Economist’s podcast, Anna was asked if she valued Melania Trump’s role as transatlantic fashion ambassador of sorts. Either she really doesn’t or she needs to get her ears checked because her response was: “I think first lady Michelle Obama was so incredible in every decision she made about fashion. She supported designers, indeed, from all over the world. She was the best ambassador this country could possibly have in many ways, obviously, way beyond fashion.”

And when the host interjected to say “But she’s not the first lady now, so what about the one that you’ve got now?” Ana responded: “To me, she is the example that I admire.”

2. The time she suggested Kanye and Kim are not “the most tasteful people”

Back in 2014 Anna put Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of Vogue magazine with the hashtag: #wordsmosttalkedaboutcouple, a move that caused people to say she was “desperate for buzz”. When asked about her decision, she said:  “I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine.”

3. The time she suggested Kim Kardashian shows too much skin

During one of the episodes of her online video series “Go Ask Anna”, a viewer asked her thoughts on the Kardashian family’s fashion. “I can’t possibly understand or fathom living so much in the public eye, but obviously it works. Kim, of all of them, have possibly changed the most. I personally admire the way that she has become a little bit more minimal, in the way that she’s dressing–a little bit more covered.”

4. The time she suggested some guests are just annoying

During the documentary The First Monday in May, a look behind the scenes at the Met Gala 2015, Anna denounced a celeb who said he was not going to attend, but then changed his mind. She is seen looking at the seating chart and when she spots this guy’s name she asks Sylvana Durret, Vogue’s director of special projects ‘I thought he wasn’t coming?

“I know, but then he decided he wanted to come,” Sylvana tells Anna.

“Ok, can he not be on his cellphone the entire time, then?” the editor-in-chief says.

Rumours are they were talking about Justin Bieber or Ricky Van Veen.

5. The time she shaded Tom Brady

Back in 2014, Anna Wintour visited Late Night with Seth Meyers to dish about the Met Gala of that same year. When shown a picture of quarterback Tom Brady, who wore a black tie to a white tie event, Anna said:  “Well, he has Gisele [Bundchen}, so that helps.”
