The 2020 Emmy Awards were destined to be a beautiful and entertaining disaster, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting from inside the empty Staples Center in Los Angeles and nominees streaming in from at-home setups around the world. Jimmy Kimmel sprayed down the first winner envelope with Lysol and, just to be sure, set it on fire. A joke that almost blew him and Jennifer Anniston up, but at the time, was thought to be worth the fake audience’s silence.

Schitt’s Creek took every category it was nominated for, sweeping seven Emmys in one night! Very well deserved. A comedic masterpiece… Seriously, an amazing show that I might just bring myself to start watching soon.

Succession proved that Emmy voters still love HBO series, even when the women in the cast keep their bosoms covered and none of the brothers make out with the hot sister.

Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow joined Jennifer Aniston during the Emmys to show the world that “I’ll be there for you” is more than just the theme song of their popular show and more of a constant inconvenience for Jennifer Anniston, who always has to host.
