There are few universal truths: money doesn’t automatically bring happiness, 2020 has been a weird year for everyone except Jeff Bezos, and everyone loves Ryan Gosling. Well, as you may or may not be aware, Ryan G. just turned the big 4-0 on November 12, and his very famous friends and mother sent him some pretty hilarious text messages to wish him a happy birthday.
And because Ryan is pretty much the best, he sent us what each and every one of the texts read:
Ryan Gosling’s mom: Happy birthday, dear. Your first 40 years were pretty darn great. Here’s hoping you get a colonoscopy and a testicular screening soon to make sure you’ll live 40 more.
Emma Stone: Hey! I may not be by your side celebrating your special day with you, but I want you to know that you… I don’t even know how to say this but…. you still owe me 300 bucks. No rush, but also, do not not-rush.
Ryan Reynolds: If there is one thing that’s great about turning 40, it’s this: you can officially avoid following the latest trends. In fact, please do. Stop trying to be “cool”. You’re confusing people. Anyway, I hope you’re having a spectacular day. I sure am.
Bradley Cooper: Sending some love to one of the most talented guys I know. May your birthday and your life be as wonderful as mine are.
Justin Timberlake: Happy birthday, man! The big 4-0 huh? Think positive. It won’t help, but what else can you do? Botox isn’t flattering on men.
Rachel McAdams: I wanted to get you something truly amazing and inspiring for your birthday and then I remembered that we haven’t talked in years, so I think this text will do.
Anna Kendrick: Happy birthday to my beautiful friend! Words aren’t enough to express how happy I am you’re celebrating another year of life and that I didn’t have to make up a silly excuse for not being there this year. #COVID
George Clooney: Happy birthday, man. You know that blood-related or not, I truly think of you as more of a father to me.
