To all my fans,

After 18 incredibly fun years, we have decided to end The Ellen Show. Why, you ask? Because sometimes good things must come to an end, and sometimes shows that have been on the air too long have to end too. I know, I was also shocked when I read this very specific quote.

The point is, after so many years of delivering joy to millions of households every single day, I can proudly say that NBC and I personally have made a shit ton of money. Seriously, so much. But that’s not why we did it. But it sure was nice.

Honestly, I’m going to miss doing this show very much—waking up super early and chatting for hours with the hair and makeup crew while they get me ready. I’m joking. Those guys don’t like me very much. Apparently, I’m not very friendly at 5 in the morning. But I will miss everything and everyone else.

I’m not sure what life has in store for me after this, but it’s probably incredible. I am a pretty famous celebrity after all. Maybe I’ll star in a movie next year, or spend more time doing charity work and helping endangered animals, who knows… I’m joking, of course I know but it’s good to keep people guessing.

But hopefully, no matter what I do next, you guys will go with me. Please know that I’m really grateful to have you and I would love for you to keep in touch. Feel free to write to me on social media, the guy who manages my accounts has fun pretending to be me.

Love,

Ellen.
