Paul Rudd was chosen to be the sexiest man alive by People and he couldn’t be happier. Or prouder.
He heard the news on a Wednesday, the sexiest day of the week. Paul had just woken up and had bed hair, the sexy kind. And morning breath, but that’s okay because he is sexy.
“Honestly, yesterday I was grateful just to be alive! And I guess being a man is also pretty great.” Paul said to no one in particular after reading the email.
“Am I really that sexy?” Paul whispered to himself, smiling. “I mean, my mom has always said so. But she’s supposed to think I’m sexy. She’s my mom.”
His mom, Gloria Rudd, is the first person he called to tell the exciting news. But she didn’t pick up. “How dare she not pick up when the Sexiest Man Alive calls?,” he said to his wife, who was asleep in bed next to him, completely unaware that she’s married to a sexy man.
When Paul’s wife of 18 years Julie Yaeger woke up and heard the news, she congratulated him and asked him to make coffee. And then breakfast.
Paul reportedly made the coffee and breakfast because being sexy changes nothing, apparently.
His teen daughter had already heard the news when she sat down for breakfast with the family. “That’s so exciting, dad!” she said, and then spent the next 20 minutes talking about who she actually thinks is Sexiest Man Alive.
