After seeing what a great success the Friends reunion was, the executives and cast of Harry Potter thought ‘what the hell, let’s make an insane amount of money with a reunion also.”
So, we’re getting a reunion. Whether we want it or not.
“It’s been 20 years since the first Harry Potter movie premiered,” said an HBO executive. “So we figured that was a good enough excuse to make a fortune.”
“The fans will love it,” said another HBO executive. “But not as much as I will when I see the money coming in.”
The special is set to premiere on January 1st, and will feature Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, as well as other less important actors, of course.
“Yes, I’ll be a part of the special,” said Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the original movies. “And just like last time, I won’t get paid as much as the three main characters.”
“We’re lucky that we get to do this at all,” Ruper Grint said. “It’s kind of crazy that in 20 years none of us have done something that gets us canceled.”
Speaking of canceled, when asked if J.K. Rowling will be a part of this special, an HBO representative said: “Who?”
So probably not.
