After almost 9 years together, Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler decided to call it quits. They both agreed to sit down with me to talk about what led them to make this decision, and what it means for them now that they are single.
Bea: Hi Vanessa. Hi Austin. Thank you for agreeing to meet me during such a difficult time.
Vanessa: Of course.
Austin: Sure.
Bea: I want to start this interview off light. Why don’t you love each other anymore?
Vanessa: Well, it’s complicated. I wouldn’t say that I don’t love Austin… I do. I always will.
Bea: Totes.
Vanessa: But we’ve grown apart. Last year we didn’t spend much time together because of our busy schedules. It was really difficult for me to connect with him while he was in LA and I was in Europe.
Bea: My cousin lives in Europe.
Vanessa: That’s nice.
Bea: She just had a kid. Do you want to see pictures?
Vanessa: I’m okay.
Bea: Sure? The baby is really cute from the neck down.
Austin: I just want to say I will always love Vanessa and it wasn’t my idea to break up.
Bea: Wait your turn, Austin.
Austin: I’m sorry. But breaking up has been the most painful thing I’ve ever gone through in my life. I don’t know how to live life without her.
Bea: I understand. Vanessa, who were you more sexually attracted to, Austin or Zac Efron?
Vanessa: That’s a very inappropriate question.
Austin: I would like to hear the answer to that…
Vanessa: Austin, obviously. He’s my better half.
Austin: I knew it. I will always love you.
Bea: Get it together, man.
Vanessa: These past few days have been really hard. *holds Austin’s hand*
