I met up with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in the lobby of a very fancy hotel downtown. They arrived separately. Both late.
Bea: Thanks for agreeing to do this with me.
Brad: Sure thing.
Angelina: I actually didn’t know Brad was gonna be here…
Bea: Is that gonna be a problem? Cause I can ask him to leave…
Brad: Why? I drove 45 min to be here.
[Silence]
Angelina: It’s fine. Let’s just get this over with….
Bea: That’s the spirit …. so, I read that you two are getting along better now. I see that that’s fake news…
Angelina: No… it’s true. A year ago we wouldn’t have been able to do this.
Brad: We couldn’t stand being in the same room together.
Angelina: That’s what I just said, Bradley.
[Silence]
Bea: Anyway… You two have six kids together. Why did you do that?
Angelina: Excuse me?
Bea: Six seems like a lot. Why not have one and call it a day?
Brad: … We wanted a big family.
Bea: I don’t get it… I guess that’s a rich people thing…
[Silence]
Bea: If you could give your kids one piece of advice, what would it be?
Brad: …
Angelina: We’re constantly giving them advice. That’s what parents do.
Bea: Yeah, but if you could give them advice right now… what would it be?
Angelina: Stay in the car.
Brad: Don’t talk to this lady.
[Silence]
Bea: Moving on…. Do you think there’s a small tiny chance you might wanna… you know…. press your mouths together and merge your tongues again?
Brad: …
Angelina: We don’t do that anymore.
Bea: That’s why I said ‘again’…
Angelina: No. Probably not.
Bea: Gotcha… Listen, before I forget, your rep said I absolutely needed to ask about your new movie…”The One and Only Victor”. What can you quickly tell me about it?
Angelina: Well, for starters, it’s called “The One and Only Ivan”… and you can watch it on Disney+.
Bea: Ohhhhh, I don’t have Disney+…
[Silence]
Bea: Well, thanks so much for coming, you two. This was lovely!
Both actors left without saying goodbye.
