Today is Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ one-year wedding anniversary. The two got married in Vegas after the Billboard Music Awards on May 1, 2019. I was supposed to meet them at their house in Los Angeles but I am currently stuck in London, England.
Here’s my phone conversation with them:
Bea: Hi guys. Can you hear me okay?
Joe: Hello?
Bea: Yeah, I said hi already. Can you hear me or not?
Sophie: We can… but your voice sounds a little muffled.
Bea: That’s probably because I’m in effing London. I’ve been stuck at the airport for 7 and a half hours with a bunch of hippies.
Sophie: What were you doing in London? I thought the borders were closed.
Bea: I came to interview Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift.
Sophie: Aww, send them my best.
Bea: I was with them yesterday, Sophia. Keep up.
[Silence]
Bea: I heard today is your wedding anniversary, congrats!
Joe and Sophie: Thanks!
Bea: What are you doing to celebrate?
Sophie: Well, Joe recreated Vegas for us. I woke up and he had—
Bea to a stranger: WHAT THE CRAP, LADY? YOU CAN’T SIT NEXT TO ME. You gotta stay six feet away, we are in the middle of a pandemic!
Bea: The nerve of some people. Go on…
Sophie: Joe decorated the entire living space with tiny slot machines and balloons, and he installed a disco ball and—
Bea: I get it. Like Vegas. Did you like it?
Sophie: Oh, I cried for 15 minutes after seeing it.
Bea: Because you knew you’d be the one cleaning that mess up?
Sophie: I cried because I was emotional. I loved it. It was very special.
Bea: Oh. Okay.
[Silence]
Bea to a stranger: LADY, WAKE UP! Your head is tilting dangerously close to me while you sleep… and as I said before, we are in the middle of a pandemic, so keep your head straight.
Bea: Seriously, the nerve….
[Silence]
Bea: How’s the baby? Have you found out the sex yet?
Sophie: Uh… yes…
Joe: But we’re not ready to tell anyone yet… We literally just found out today.
Bea: Okay. But the baby is good, everything is good?
Sophie: Everything’s amazing. He’s growing really strong and healthy.
Bea: So, it’s a boy?
Joe: FOR GOD’S SAKE, SOPHIE!
