Chrissy Teigen and John Legend just celebrated their seventh year anniversary. Chrissy, being the internet queen that she is, shared with us the absurdly romantic letter John gave her on the morning of.

Dear Chrissy,
Today marks seven years since we said “I do” at the altar, before you passed out from all the drinking you did that day, completely disregarding the “wedding night” tradition. I wasn’t upset, of course, I just stared at you for an hour or two hoping you would wake up so we could spend the rest of the night talking about our feelings and our future together… When you finally woke up, well, let’s just say you weren’t happy to see me…. Turns out you really don’t like being stared at when you sleep… who knew.
My point is, seven years is a long time. And what a journey it’s been! Time sure flies when you are in love and you travel as much as I do and don’t get to see your spouse very often. But every single moment we’ve actually spent together has been incredible. Perhaps not every single moment, but 2 out of every 67, for sure.
I still remember the first time I laid eyes on you, I was completely speechless and out of breath from taking up the stairs to the 16th floor. Remember how fit I was back then? Of course you do, you remind me at least once a week. So does your mother. But I can see the way you look at me when I’m in the shower… you still think I’m pretty, and I like that.
You are a wonderful woman, wife, and mother. I really appreciate all you do for our family. I may not say this as much as I should, but you truly know how to hire the best nannies, chefs and cleaning staff for the house. Without your recruiting talents our life would not be the same.
I hope I’ve made it clear in these seven years of marriage that everything I do in this life is to make you not complain about me. That’s key. Crazy as it may sound, I don’t like hearing you say negative things about me so I try my very best to keep you distracted and entertained.
I love you entirely, unconditionally. I honestly can’t think of how my life would be without you in it. Can’t even imagine how much money I would lose in that divorce…. the thought alone is enough to make me queasy. I am going to hold on to you forever. That’s a promise. And a threat.
Happy 7th year anniversary, my love, my wife, my best friend. Without a single doubt, you truly are like the sister I never had.
