Jay-Z made headlines on November 3 after joining Instagram for the first time. An exciting moment for humanity but an overwhelming one for Jay Z, who spent the entire morning and some of his lunch break trying to figure out how the app works.

After understanding the basics, the superstar struggled with following accounts and so he stopped trying after managing to follow his wife’s. “You know, people might even think I did that on purpose”, he said to no one in particular.

Meanwhile, people all over the world started following Jay-Z on Instagram. By the end of the day, he had managed to garner over a million followers—all of them excited to connect with the rapper.

Jay-Z’s first post was promoting his new Netflix western The Harder They Fall, which he produced and provided music for on the soundtrack. Not a bad start but here’s hoping his posts get better with time.

However, by November 4 fans noticed that Jay-Z’s account was no longer available. “I couldn’t handle it,” he said. “My phone kept buzzing with notifications.”

We’ll have to see if his disappearance is temporary, or if he’ll figure out how to turn off notifications next time he re-activates his account when he has to promote something else in the future.
