After nearly 2 years of dating, Riverdale costars Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart officially broke up at the beginning of March, right before the pandemic hit. Both actors have been relatively quiet about their separation… that is, until now.
On Instagram, Cole shared a sappy message about Lili… And Lili, being the queen that she is, shared with me some of the hilarious texts she received when friends and family found out about their breakup.
Camila Mendes: I love you and I’m here for you. Remember what we talked about yesterday… you’re a queen, a rising star, a beautiful goddess and Cole is green dog poop on a brand new shoe and now no one wants to wear that shoe. Is it cool if I hang out with him and his brother today? The three of us made plans weeks ago.
Lili’s mom: Lili bear… your dad told me about your breakup with Cole. I want you to know that I think he smiled too much. Even when we watched sad movies. I always felt like he wasn’t paying attention to the movie and that’s very rude. Glad I could finally get that off my chest. Love you, Mom.
Barbara Palvin: Dylan told me you guys broke up. I literally can’t believe it… I’m so sad I could cry!!! Ugh, I bet the last thing you need is for me to cry about YOUR sad break up. Cole might replace you but I will always think of you as one of my favorite sisters-in-law. Stay strong for me. 🙁 🙁 🙁
Elle Fanning: Heyy girl! I heard about what happened between you and Cole… that really sucks. Anyway, my cousin thinks you’re cute and he asked if I could give him your number. He’s a few years younger than us but he’s pretty cute and will be even cuter once he gets his braces off. He’s also a bit shorter than you, but you don’t mind that, do you? Long story short, I gave him your number. His name is Lucas. Expect his text soon.
Charles Melton: I heard about your breakup. Just wanna let you know I’m thinking about you (Not in a creepy way.) If you want me to come over so I can offer you some non-sexual comfort, just reply to this text. If you don’t, still reply. It’s rude to keep leaving me on read.
Sophie Turer: Hey girly girl. I heard about you and Cole… I hope you’re feeling okay. Text me if you need anything. I might not reply because as you know, I just gave birth. You never texted or called to congratulate me but that’s okay…. water under the bridge. I just thought we were closer than that… But it’s fine. I’m totally fine.
Jennifer Lopez: Just wanted to check up on you…. I know you’re going through a difficult time and it’s gonna suck for a little bit but you have friends and family who are not yet sick of talking about this. That’s at least 3 more weeks of friendly ears.
Lili’s dad: Lili bear, I’m so sorry to hear about your breakup with that skinny guy from your show. You know your mom and I love you and want what’s best for you. I know a couple who were together for 7 years and broke up because he was cheating on her and she cried for 2 years before she finally moved on. I hope you get over this guy quicker than that.
