The moment I found out Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are expecting a baby together, I immediately picked up the phone to call Gigi’s manager to schedule an appointment to interview them. To my surprise, they were okay with me stopping by their family’s farm, where they’ve been staying since the quarantine started.
This is what happened from the moment I arrived:
[Gigi Hadid opens the door]
Bea: Hi Gigi.
Gigi: Uh… hi.
[I let myself in the house]
Bea: I brought champagne. Obviously not for you, you are pregnant. It’s for me.
Gigi: What is going on… are you the interviewer?
Bea: Yup. Where should I put this?
Gigi: I’ll take it. Please wait for me in the living room.
[I sit on the couch.]
Bea: Congrats on the pregnancy.
Gigi: Thanks. I can’t believe the whole world knows now.
Bea: The cat is out of the bag…
Gigi: I know. It kind of sucks. I wanted to keep this to myself for as long as possible…
Bea: I’ve heard pregnant women get very hormonal.
Gigi: Yeah but I’m feeling amazing and with—
Bea: Are you sexually attracted to me right now? Because of the hormones…
Gigi: Mmm.. no.
[Silence]
Gigi: Can you excuse me for a minute. I need to use the bathroom… I’ll be right back.
[Gigi leaves for 25 minutes. When she comes back, she finds me eating cake in her kitchen.]
Bea: Were you taking a poo or what took you so long?
Gigi: IS THAT MY GENDER REVEAL CAKE?!
Bea: Oh shit. Is that why it’s pink?
Gigi: I’M HAVING A GIRL??
Bea: Well, the cake is p—
Gigi: OMG, OMG, OMG!! ZAYN…. IT’S A GIRL!!! WE’RE HAVING A GIRL!!!!
[Zayn comes running in.]
Zayn to Gigi: What?? How do you know?
[Zayn sees the piece of cake on the table.]
Zayn to Gigi: You cut the cake without me?!
