The retired soccer star, David Beckham, turned 45 on Saturday. I gave him a call that day to congratulate him and find out how he chose to celebrate the special occasion, since no one can go anywhere.
David: Hello?

[David hangs up.]

David: Hello?
Bea: WHAT THE CRAP, DAVID? Why did you hang up in the middle of me congratulating you??
David: My apologies. I dropped the mobile by mistake. I’m playing soccer with my kids.
Bea: Oh, okay. No worries.

Bea: DAVID!
David: Hey, sorry. I’m here!
Bea: I just wanna wish you an amazing birthday and tell you you’ve influenced my life in a way that—
David to his son: PASS THE BALL, SON!!! DON’T BE A MAMA’S BOY AND PASS IT ALREADY!!
Bea: David?
[Silence]
David: Yeah, I’m here. I’m here.
Bea: You’ve influenced my life because of your work ethic and—
David: I TOLD YOU TO PASS IT! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN. YOU. DON’T. LISTEN TO ME!! YOU ARE JUST LIKE YOUR MOTHER!
Bea: IS THIS NOT A GOOD TIME TO TALK?!
David: Sorry, I’m still here!
Bea: I just want to say that you are my hero and following your career through the years has really changed my life.
[David hangs up.]
