I’m personally a big fan of Hugh Jackman and been trying to interview him for years. Because he’s been quarantining for a long time and doesn’t have a lot going on at the moment, he finally agreed to have a Zoom call with me to talk about life, marriage and some rumors going around…
Bea: Thanks for doing this with me, Hugh!
Hugh: My pleasure.
Bea: No, seriously, it’s really exciting to meet you… I don’t care what my mom says, I think you’re talented.
Hugh: [laughs] Well, thank you.
Bea: I really liked you in that movie about the magician and the bearded lady… what’s it called?
Hugh: The Greatest Showman.
Bea: That one! Yeah… I didn’t watch it but I saw the trailer… it’s a good trailer.
Hugh: You should see the whole film, it’s even better.
Bea: Listen, how come you’ve never made a movie with Jennifer Lopez? She’s a good actress. She could give you some tips.
Hugh: Uh… yeah, she is. She’s definitely a good actress.
Bea: You should call her. Get together with her. Why hasn’t it happened?
Hugh: That’s a good question… There isn’t really a good answer, though.
Bea: Something to think about…
Hugh: Sure.
Bea: You’re been in this industry a long time…. but you’re mostly known for your role as Wolverine, right?
Hugh: Right!
Bea: What’s it like to have people all over the world think of you as a superhuman with an incredible physique when the truth is you’re just a regular Joe?
Hugh: Well… it’s…. I’ve never thought of that.
Bea: [silence]
Hugh: Uh… personally, I think people just know… they know that I don’t actually have superpowers.
Bea: Do you ever wish you were so talented that people thought you did?
Hugh: [silence]
Bea: There’s a rumor going around that you’re gay… even though it is obvious that you’re not…. judging by how you’ve been flirting with me.
Hugh: Uh, no, no. Absolutely not.
Bea: That’s what I just said…
Hugh: What I mean is…. I’m happily married to the most beautiful woman in the world and I have definitely not been flirting with you.
Bea: Not even a little?
Hugh: No.
Bea: That’s disappointing… ‘cause I was.
Hugh: You could’ve fooled me…. if anything I felt like you were being a little passive-aggressive.
Bea: Exactly, that’s how I make romantic advances.
Hugh: That’s probably why you’re single…
[Silence]
Bea: Well, before things get awkward I’m gonna say goodbye, Hugh. Thank you so much for answering some of my questions. It was—
