Emma Stone recently agreed to marry his longtime boyfriend and Saturday Night Live segment director, Dave McCary. Though they are both pretty private when it comes to their romance, Emma agreed to talk to me and disclose some details about the engagement and their upcoming wedding.

Bea: Hi Emma. Thanks for meeting me here.
Emma: No problem.
Bea: Congratulations on your engagement.
Emma: Thank you! I’m very happy.
Bea: How did it happen, was it romantic?
Emma: Honestly, it was the most romantic thing that has ever happened to me. He was… amazing. We cried together for hours after.
Bea: Do you have gum?
Emma: What? No.
Bea: I’m craving something fruity.
Emma stares at me and says nothing.
Bea: When did you tell your family that Paul proposed?
Emma: Dave.
Bea: What the hell is a Dave?
Emma: My fiance’s name is Dave, not Paul.
Bea: So when did you tell them that he proposed?
Emma: They were there when it happened. They were hiding so I wouldn’t suspect anything.
Bea: That’s lame.
Emma: I thought it was nice.
Bea: Is there a wedding date yet?
Emma: No, not yet.
Bea: Well let me know, I’ll be happy to go if I have nothing else going on that day.
Emma: Umm, It’s going to be a small wedding, we’re not really inviting a lot of people.
Bea: Even better. I hate big weddings.
