Interview: Chris Pratt Tells The Story Of How He Found Out His Wife Katherine Was Pregnant

Ten months after getting married, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are expecting their first baby together. Chris told me over a phone interview how he’s feeling, and how he found out he was going to be a dad for the second time.

This is how the conversation went:

Bea: Hi Chris. Thanks for doing this with me. 

Chris: No problem.

Bea: How are you doing? 

Chris: I’m really effing happy.

Bea: Wow. Really, how come?

Chris: My wife is pregnant. 

Bea: Ok, but tell me why you’re so happy. 

Chris: That’s why…. I’m happy because my wife is pregnant. I’m gonna be a father, again! 

Bea: Oh… I thought you’d won the lottery or… got a new haircut. But congrats. 

Chris: Thanks! I literally can’t stop smiling.

Bea: Did you just find out? 

Chris: No no. My wife is almost five months pregnant.

Bea: Oh man, it’s gonna be the longest 9 months of her life if you can’t keep your enthusiasm in check. 

[Silence]

Bea: How did you find out?

Chris: It was very special. She wrote “I’m Pregnant!” with red lipstick on our bathroom mirror.

Bea: That is kind of nice.

Chris: She’s amazing.

Bea: Has she been feeling okay? 

Chris: Not exactly… she’s nauseous most of the day and has terrible back pain. 

Bea: Does she have hemorrhoids? My mom told me she had hemorrhoids when she was pregnant with me.  

Chris: I… don’t think I should say if she does or not. 

Bea: Tell Elsa to apply apple cider vinegar. It worked wonders for my mother. 

[Silence]

Chris: Elsa…?

Bea: Your wife… Elsa Pataky.

Chris: That’s Chris Hemsworth’s wife. 

Bea: You’re not Chris Hemsworth? 

Chris: Are you kidding me right now? I’M CHRIS PRATT.
