In just a few months time, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas will welcome their first child together. A day after news broke that the Brit is for “months along” and that the couple is “extremely excited,” they both agreed to sit down with me to talk about their happy news and possible baby names.
Bea: Hi guys. Thanks for doing this with me.
Sophie: Of course!
Joe: No problem.
Bea: Congratulations on your pregnancy news! You look beautiful.
Sophie: Thank you so much.
Bea: I was talking to Joe. He is glowing!
Sophie: No he isn’t. He’s just sweating.
Joe: I’m not sweating! I’m just happy. We are both very happy.
Bea: Wait a minute… So this was not an accident?
Sophie: No, of course not.
Joe: We wanted to get pregnant.
Bea: Oh, praise the lord.
*Silence*
Bea: Do you have a name yet?
Sophie: Yes. If it’s a girl, we like the name Advil. And if it’s a boy, Matthew.
Bea: I knew a Matthew in college. He had a weird mole between his eyebrows and his left eye was slightly bigger than the right one.
*Silence*
Bea: He was a really strange fellow.
*Silence*
Sophie: The name Basil is also an option… if it’s a boy.
Bea: I don’t know anybody named Basil.
Joe: It’s a rare name.
Bea: For good reason.
*Silence*
Bea: Have you talked to your parents about your birth plan?
Joe: I feel like that’s a little too personal…
Sophie: My plan is to push this baby out, preferably before its due date, while being doped up on pain killers and with as little damage to my hoo-haw as possible, so I can still feel pleasure afterwards.
Joe to Sophie: She ONLY asked if we had talked to our parents about the plan!
Sophie: Oh. Yes. We have.
