A lot has been said about Kate Middleton these past few days. Ever since Finding Freedom came out, the new book about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the royal family is all the media seems to be talking about. My name is Justin Adler, and I had a conversation with the future Queen about life, what she and her family have been up to… and of course, Meghan Markle.
Adler: It is an honor to meet you, Princess Catherine.
Kate: Nice to meet you.
Adler: I am obviously in the presence of greatness right now… so let me just say… “chikaku”.
Kate: Pardon?
Adler: It means “I am not worthy of being near you”… in Japanese.
Kate: You speak Ja—
Adler: OK, you caught me. “Chickaku” is just the word “near”. I don’t know how to say “worthy of being”. Or “I am”. YET.
Kate: [smiles politely]
Adler: But it is the thought that counts, am I right?… I knew you’d understand…
Kate: [keeps smiling politely]
Adler: My twitter followers told me that you and The Prince pledged £1.8 million pounds from your own charity to support emergency workers…
Kate: Absolutely… William and I are very grateful for everything they have done during this challenging time.
Adler: Doesn’t it shock just you how much my twitter followers know? … I can ask them about anything, literally any topic… and they always, ALWAYS, have an opinion…
Kate: [laughs politely]
Adler: I’m going to ‘LIKE’ the tweet about your donation… it’s important to give love back, you know?…. But of course YOU know that… You’re a Princess. All you do is give, and give, and give…. You’re a true giver.
Kate: [smiles politely]
Adler: There’s also a rumor that you recently went on a family vacation with your kids… something about the same place where The Prince vacationed as a child…
Kate: Absolutely. We went to the Isles of Scilly for a quick getaway… before the children return to school… It’s important to me, and to William, to support our travel industry right now.
Adler: And here you are again, giving.
Kate: [laughs] But it was also really special for us to enjoy quality time as a family… and nice weather.
Adler: Now, I have to ask…. and please don’t hate me for this because I don’t want to, but I have to…. perhaps I want to a little bit. We’re all curious creatures… or as the Japanese say, “kimyona”…
Kate: All right…
Adler: What is your favorite tv show and is it true that you and Meghan Markle had nothing in common other than you both lived at Kensington Palace? …
Kate: [takes a second to resond] I would have to say, Strictly Come Dancing.
Adler: [silence]
Kate: [takes another second to answer] I think Meghan is a wonderful person and I wish her all the best…. always.
Adler: Of course you do. You’re a true Capricorn… Capricorns are responsible and have good manners.
Kate: [smiles]
Adler: I think… our time is up? … One of your security guys is signaling something…. it’s either that or … he wants to cut my throat.
