Kanye West and Kim Kardashian said ‘I do’ six years ago, but they’re currently going through a rough patch. As quarantine continues, Kanye is seriously getting on Kim’s nerves.
I had a Zoom call with Kanye to find out what’s been going on between these two:
Bea: Hi Kanye.
Kanye: Hello.
Bea: Thanks for doing this.
Kanye: Yeah, sure.
[Kanye gets up and I can no longer see him on screen.]
Bea: Uh… Kanye?
Bea: HELLO??
[Kanye comes back on screen after THIRTEEN minutes].
Kanye: You’re still here. Good.
Bea: What happened? Why did you go without saying anything first?
Kanye: I was testing your patience…. Now I know I can respect you.
Bea: [Silence]
Bea: Sure… Whatever… I spoke with your wife a few weeks ago and she was hiding from you and the kids. Is everything okay between you and Kim?
Kanye: Yeah, she does that sometimes. She hides in closets to avoid talking to me.
Bea: Okay… but is that—
Kanye: I’m going to play you my new song.
Bea: No, that’s okay, thank you.
[Kanye stands up and gets his ukulele.]
Bea: I still have more questions. Can we please—
[Kanye starts playing his song with the ukulele. It’s a long song. It’s longer than any song I’ve ever heard in my life. Why won’t it end???]
[Kanye finally stops playing.]
Kanye: And? Did it blow your mind?
Bea: It was okay… a bit long. And I don’t like the ukulele, to be honest.
Kanye: Then you don’t know anything about music.
Bea: That’s… that’s true. Fair comment. So back to what’s going on with you and Kim… can you tell me why—
Kanye: I’m going to play this song for you again, but this time with my guitar.
Bea: No, seriously don’t. I’m good. I’m okay. It was beautiful the first time, let’s not ruin it.
[Kanye leaves the room again. Presumably to get his guitar… but who knows at this point.]
[Kanye comes back with his guitar and without his shirt on. I’m not gonna ask why and just pretend I can’t see his chest hair.]
Kanye: Are you ready?
Bea: Can we please not do—
[Kanye starts playing the same song again. It’s even longer than the first time he played it. I’m beginning to understand why Kim hides from him. How many times can a person listen to the same damn song without wondering if life is even worth living?!]
[Kanye’s song finishes.]
Kanye: Well…?
Bea: Can we please focus? I just want to talk about you how you guys spent your anniversary…
Kanye: I’ll tell you what… I’ll play you the song I wrote for Kim today.
Bea: Is it—
[Kanye starts playing again. I cannot sit through another song, I just can’t. I wish I could, but I CAN’T. I get up and leave the room, closing the door behind me. I didn’t hang up because he won’t even notice I’m gone.]
[After 20 minutes I open the door to see if he’s upset. He’s not. He’s still playing the song.]
