Interview: Adam Brody Opens Up About Wife Leighton Meester’s Tough Pregnancy

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are one of the most private couples in Hollywood, but I was able to convince Adam to talk to me about Leighton’s pregnancy. Because of the whole social-distancing thing, the interview was done over the phone.

Bea: Hi Adam. Thanks for agreeing to talk with me. 

Adam: Sure thing. Just please stop calling my parents at 4 in the morning. 

Bea: Fair enough. I’ve been having the weirdest conversations with your mom anyway. She’s not a morning person, is she?

[Silence]

Bea: So I heard Leighton is pregnant. Congratulations, if it’s yours.

Adam: Of course it’s mine.

Bea: I’ve always thought that as a man you can never be sure, you know?

Adam: No, I’m sure it’s mine. 

Bea: Okay. 

Adam: We’ve been trying to get pregnant again for a while.

Bea: So it was planned… that’s always good for the self-esteem of the baby. 

[Silence]

Bea: How’s Leighton feeling? 

Adam: She’s good, though she’s had migraines for the majority of the pregnancy. 

Bea: That sucks. I think. I’ve never had a migraine so I can’t be sure. 

[Silence]

Bea: I’ve also heard that you two lovebirds recently celebrated your sixth wedding anniversary.

Adam: Yup, last month.

Bea: Did you do anything special to celebrate?

Adam: We went out for dinner.

Bea: That’s kind of lame, no? 

Adam: Leighton had a migraine so she didn’t want to do anything elaborate.

Bea: I hope she at least got laid. 

[Silence]

Bea: Adam? 

[Silence]

Bea: Are you there?

Adam: If she did, it wasn’t with me.
